Assesment methods :
In the course of the semester 2 written tests for 15 points will be realized. During the semester the presentation of the seminar work for 10 points will be done. Final written exam will be for 60 points. To obtain a mark A at least 93 points must be obtained for the evaluation of B at least 86 points, for C at least 79 points for mark D minimum 72 points and for E at least 64 points must be obtained.
Objectives and learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student will understand the general principles of hematology and blood diseases, blood cells divide, their special functions, relations and reactions, the principle of hematopoiesis, blood clotting and immune response. The student knows the principles of diagnosis of hematological diseases and the analysis of whole blood and plasma/serum, blood cell cultivation and handling, and this knowledge can use in laboratory practice and in research work.
Course contents:
Haematopoiesis. Distribution of blood cells, immunophenotypization. Characteristics of erythrocytes and their enzymes. Special functions of erythrocytes. Iron metabolism. Qualitative and quantitative properties of hemoglobin. Anemia. Leukocyte system and its disorders. Haemostasis and its disorders. Blood groups. Immunoglobulins and substance-specific for hematopoiesis.
