|Objectives and learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Students will acquire knowledge about renewable energy sources (RES) and their practical use in the regions of Slovakia. The output is the definition of the most appropriate way of using renewable energy resources in Slovakia. Students are able to apply the acquired knowledge in order to use efficiently available renewable energy resources and thus increase energy self-sufficiency of the country and at the same time reduce pollution of the country.|
Types of renewable energy resources.
Use of water power in regions of Slovakia.
Use of solar energy in regions of Slovakia.
The use of wind energy in regions of Slovakia.
Geothermal energy in regions of Slovakia.
Use of biomass in regions of Slovakia.
Technology for biomass processing.
Technology for the gasification of biodegradable materials.
Technology for the gasification of biomass through thermochemical conversion of biomass.
