Assesment methods :
Semester project and its presentation in 40 points, final written exam in 60 points. To obtain A mark will be needed to obtain at least 93 points, for the evaluation of B mark at least 86 points, C mark at least 79 points, for the evaluation of D mark at least 72 points and for the evaluation of E mark at least 64 points.
 
Objectives and learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student understand the theoretical principles of tissue, cell and protoplast cultures, he is able to use them in practice for the production of valuable metabolites, and biologically active substances and for regeneration of plants with new properties and /or for micropropagation of plants. The student is able to apply knowledge in laboratory practice and research.
 
Course contents:
Principles, cultivation techniques, skills and technologies for cultivation of plant tissues in vitro conditions. Cell totipotency, induction of embryo development in vitro. Haploid production (via andro- and gynogenesis). Principles and methods of plant transformation, plant transformation systems, identification of transgenes, and micropropagation of plants.
