Planned types, learning activities and teaching methods:
lecture1 hour weekly / 13 hours per semester of study (on-site method)
seminar2 hours weekly / 26 hours per semester of study (on-site method)

Credits: 4
Semester: -- item not defined --
Level of study: 2.
Prerequisites for registration: none
Assesment methods :
In the course of a semester the students write a partial written test by 20 points, seminar work by 10 points and final test by 70 points. Grading A corresponds to min. 93 points, B 86 points, C 80 points, D 72 points and E min. 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students understand basic physiological processes related to environmental factors. They study in details the principles of growth-production processes of the most important grown crops in agricultural and also natural stands, respectively, their regulation, main limits of biomass quantity and quality production and protective mechanisms against environmental factors, which may be used in farming practice and plant breeding.
Course contents:
Ecophysiological aspects of basic physiological processes in crops and woody species. Growth specifity, regulation mechanisms and their genetic determination. Genotype x environment interactions. Gene expression changes related to the physiological and metabolic level. Physiological principles of plant breeding. Regulation of flower, fruit, seed and metamorphological organ formation. System analysis, modelling, monitoring and diagnostics of functional relationships in the soil-plant-atmosphere system as related to quantity and quality of yield production and sustainable crop development.
