Assesment methods :
During the semester 2 written exams (40 points).
The final exam is combination (written and oral) for 60 points.
For final A level student must gain at least 93 points, for B level 86 points, C level 79 points, D level 72 points and E level 64 points. Student will gain credits for course if level is from A to E.
Objectives and learning outcomes of the course unit:
The goal is to understand the biological basis for explaining the production ability of farm animals and biological requirements of the individual animal categories in relation to the environment and the use of techniques and technologies
Course contents:
Students will obtain knowledge of current and prospective application of livestock and its position in the economy, food production and by-products. After graduating student gains knowledge about biological regularities aimed at producing ability of livestock. They will get acquainted with the most important breeding and utility types of cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry end horses in relation to various production system. Students will become familiar with the basic requirements for breeding and management in different housing systems technology. The student will acquire knowledge that basic biological and physiological requirements of individual species and categories of animals must be respected in the development of techniques for animal husbandry.
