Semester: Garden and Landscape Architecture - bachelor (required), 5. semester

Prerequisites for registration: (Garden Floriculture or now Garden Floriculture) or (Garden Floriculture or now Garden Floriculture)
Assesment methods :
Credit: defend the landscape project
Exam: written test

For the evaluation A must be obtained at least 93 points, for the evaluation B at least 86 points, for the evaluation C at least 79 points, for the evaluation D at least 72 points and for the evaluation E at least 64 points. Student receives credit for the subject in the case of evaluation mark from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student understands the issue of selection of herbs in different types of herbaceous plantings, is able to solve the issues management of establishment and maintenance of herbaceous plantings, is able to apply knowledge in processing of project design documentation of herbaceous plantings, is able to analyse the creation of important designersa and is able to identify the problems in applying plantings in an urban environment.
Course contents:
Current trends and possibilities of using herbs in landscaping design. Annual landscaping: location, planning and the corresponding assortment. Possibility of applications bulbs and tuberous plants due to their specific characteristics in combination with other groups of plants. Perennial lanscaping and proposal of specific type locations (undergrowth trees, open areas, rockery, the water and the edge of water, etc..). Planning, implementation and maintenance of perennial beds and borders. Flowerbeds in historical field.
