Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Graduate is able to analyze the European legislation, the way how it works, the EU law-making, its binding for the Member States as well as the proceedings before the judicial authorities of the EU.He/she is able to analyze the common and different features between the Slovak and European legislation. Is able to use his/her knowledge in the field of agricultural EU legislation and its implementation in Slovakia.
Course contents:
Follow-up to the subject of the European Union. A general introduction to the principles and application of European law, the structure of the legal system and law, decision-making and judicial protection. Selected substantive issues such as citizenship, fundamental rights, gender equality, legal protection in the EU. Principles of European justice. EU law, standardization, binding. Primary sources of EU law and its application. Secondary sources of legislative activity institutions. The decision of the European Court of Justice and the proceedings before it. Relationship aquis communautaire and national law and the way of its use by the competent authorities of the Slovak Republic.
