Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student gains knowledge about principles of economic way of thinking by using theories, which describe market entities behavior. Student will be oriented in economic categories that explain consumer`s and firm`s decision making and will be able to implement them in individual home works and case studies.
Course contents:
Tools of the economic analysis for the search of balance-demand, supply, changes in the market equilibrium in the aftermath of regulatory intervention; decision of the consumer about the optimal consumption basket; influence of price and consumer income changes on demand, business and technology, production and costs for short-term and long-term periods; decision of companies in conditions of perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly and monopoly.
