40 points for preparation and presentation of the project, 60 points for the final exam.

Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Aim of the course construction of Influence of Engine Construction on Environment is to describe the creation and combustion mixture during combustion of the fuel in the cylinder. Describe the creation of emission and conditions of increasing their quantity in the exhaust. Pay attention to constructional changes and modifications of internal combustion engines which have an impact on reducing exhaust emissions.
After completion of the subject the student understands progressive constructions of the internal combustion engines from the point of view of environment.
Course contents:
Air pollution combustion engines. Types of pollutants. The quantity and composition of combustion gases. Fundamentals of chemical kinetics. Classification of combustion. Pollutants in the exhaust. The mechanism of pollutants. Measures to reduce pollutants.
