Assesment methods :
The term grade will consist of continuous assessment – one written exam (20 points) and one seminar work (20 points). End-of-term examination – oral exam (60 points). Grading scale: letter grade A requires minimum 93 points, letter grade B requires minimum 86 points, letter grade C requires minimum 79 points, letter grade D requires minimum 72 points, letter grade E requires minimum 64 points. A student may earn units of credits in grading scale from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student obtains new knowledge about principles and nutritive value of various methods of raw fodder material preparation used in the feeding industry. After completion of the subject the student understands the issue of feed production, is able to analyse the physical structure of compound feed mixtures and feed rations.

Course contents:
The importance and trends in the feeding industry from the point of view of new technologies development of raw materials as components of the fodder mixtures and dosages. The principles and nutritional effects of physical, chemical and biological raw material prepartion (tastiness, digestibility, biological value, health quality, durability, physical structure). The physical-chemical properties of fodder in terms of the homogenity, stability and storage of fodder mixtures and dosages and pre-production treatment of fodder. The technological lines for conditioning, production, conservation, storage and fodder handling. In practical conditions valuating of physical characteristics of feed mixtures, valuating of homogenity and structure of total mixed rates.
