Assesment methods :
During the the semester will be one credit test for 30 points and a final written exam for 50 points. On completion of the course is necessary to draw up and successfully defend a semester project for 20 points. To the total score is counted active participation on seminars and successfully manage sub-tasks assigned during the semester. To obtain the evaluation A is needed to gain at least 93 points, for B is needed to gain at least 86 points, for C is needed to gain at least 79 points, for D is needed to gain at least 72 points and for E is needed to gain at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student will understand the problematics of database designing and will be able to apply appropriations of data processing in database application MS Access and acquire knowledge of programming language VBA for this application. In practice, the issue is focused on the relational data models, database designing and their optimization.
Course contents:
Basic terminology and principles of database processing. Physical and logical data independence. Data models, their characteristics and uses to describe database systems. Properties, characteristics and principles of relational databases. Designing and modeling of databases in Microsoft Access. Tables, forms, queries, reports and macros. Components of conceptual, logical and physical design of database.
