Assesment methods :
In the course of the semester will be written test for 40 points, project development and its presentation for 60 points. To obtain a ranking A is needs to get least 93 points, on the ranking B least 86 points, on the ranking C least 79 points, on the ranking D least 72 points and on the ranking E least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student will understands the problematics of design, planning and processing of project with software package Microsoft Project and acquires theoretical knowledge and practical skills and techniques from the field. From practical aspect is student able to develop a project (the allocation of work, material, cost resource and their optimization), process visual output of project. From advanced techniques is student able to work in server environment by processing multiple projects simultaneously, as well as the basic techniques of analysis and economic interpretation of output project.
Course contents:
Introduction to project management (definition and terminology of project management, project and its characteristics, techniques of project management, project roles). The project cycle (project planning, realization, expiration, scoring). Software tool MS Project (user enviroment, file types, project templates). Work with tasks (defining a new project, organization and change roles, and interaction relations between tasks). Resources of project (resource type, assigning resources to tasks, tracking resources, resource sharing). Project costs (cost tracking, display information’s about the project). Monitoring the progress of the project (types of monitoring, master plan, update the initial / continuous plan). Outputs and project presentation (processing of printed and visual reports, Gantt charts, work with filters). Advanced techniques of project management (project content, overload of resources, working with multiple projects). Introduction to work in environment of Microsoft Project Server (user interface, planning and projects monitoring, analytic tools Business Intelligence). Alternative software solutions for project management (Open Workbench, OpenProj, GanttProject).
