Assesment methods :
Midterm written exam 30 points, final written exam 30 points, assignment project paper with presentation 30 points, coursework 10 points. The student can achieve the evaluation grade A if he receives at least 93 points, grade B if he receives at least 86 points, grade C if he receives at least 79 points, grade D if he receives at least 72 points and grade E if he receives at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student will be able to understand and explain be able to define and describe the determinants of economic development, economic growth models, implemented development policies,how institutions facilitate or complicate implemented development policies. The student should be able to analyse and assess the efficiency of implemented development policies, the effects of policy implementations in the process of development, as well as the institutional framework aimed at improving human capital, welfare and quality of life.

Introduction, The Models of Economic Growth: Harrod-Domar, Lewis, Solow model
The Models of Economic Growth: Neoclassical Growth Model, Population and Urbanization
Human Capital: Education and Health Care . Transformation of Agriculture, Environment and Economic Development, International Trade and Economic Development, Foreign Aid and Institutions
Development Policies in Developing Countries, Transformation Process of Central and Eastern European Economies, Global Economic Crisis and Challenges to Economic Development.
