Assesment methods :
Midterm written exam 30 points, final written exam 30 points, assignment project paper with presentation 30 points, coursework 10 points. The student can achieve the evaluation grade A if he receives at least 93 points, grade B if he receives at least 86 points, grade C if he receives at least 79 points, grade D if he receives at least 72 points and grade E if he receives at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student obtain information obout world economy, development, integrative processes, modern theories and instruments trade and international institutions.
Course contents:
International Trade: Supply and Demand. The Analysis of Effects of Tariffs and Quotas. The Analysis of Effects of Export and Production Subsidies. Agriculture Policy i OECD countries. EU Common Agriculture Policy: CAP Effects on households, firms, state budget and third countries. Decision process in the EU. The Ricardian model of comparative advantages. Hecksher - Ohlin model of international trade and the specific factor model. Modern theories on International Trade. Balance of Payments. Exchange Rates Theories in the Short Run. Exchange Rates Theories in the Long Run. Fiscal and Monetary Policy in an Open Economy.
