Assesment methods :
Project for 40 points, and end-of-term examination – oral exam (60 points). Grading scale: letter grade A requires minimum 93 points, letter grade B requires minimum 86 points, letter grade C requires minimum 79 points, letter grade D requires minimum 72 points, letter grade E requires minimum 64 points. A student may earn units of credits in grading scale from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student is able to apply knowledge about the nutritive, hygienic and biological evaluation of feed quality.
Course contents:
Methods of laboratory testing and evaluation of feeds, their distribution and characteristics, assessment of sensory quality of roughages and concentrates, and determining of dietary and hygienic quality, with emphasis on the occurrence of mycotoxins, undesirable substances in feeds and feed sources in relation to the quality of feeds, the requirements for biological testing of feeds.
