Assesment methods :
Project for 40 points, and end-of-term examination – oral exam (60 points). Grading scale: letter grade A requires minimum 93 points, letter grade B requires minimum 86 points, letter grade C requires minimum 79 points, letter grade D requires minimum 72 points, letter grade E requires minimum 64 points. A student may earn units of credits in grading scale from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students is able to apply knowledge about merits of conservation fermentation and possibilities their regulation. Student understands the impact of the principle of silage additives on the quality of conserved feed.
Course contents:
Forage nutriments and their concern in conservation fermentations, nub of the silage fermentation, variations of content and digestibility of nutriments during conservation and storage, possibilities of active regulation of silage fermentation, fermentation products in relation to quality of the forage, nub of the effect of chemical inhibitors and biologic stimulators of fermentation and movement their progress, secondary fermentation and aerobic stability of the forage, influence of conservation to the nutritive value, intake and production efficiency of forages.
