Assesment methods :
During the semester: partial written test in the 5th/6th and 11th/12th week, total of 40 points.
Final exam: written test 40 points, oral exam 20 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student understand to knowledgeabout the qualitative aspect of production and welfare, which is reflected on the health of the animal, meeting the needs of natural farming and ensuring the production of the final product. He is able to solve general and specific needs of animals in response to improved housing conditions. He is able to apply knowledge to optimize the conditions for rearing natural behavior of animals in relation to the production of quality and safe food of animal origin.
Course contents:
Welfare and measures to improve animals living conditions, protection of animals for food production. Adaptation, acclimatization, stress and learning of animal behavior - a positive deviation from the natural behavior in relation to food production. Measures to ensure the general and specific needs and conditions of animal welfare in relation to quality and food safety. Protection of animals for food production on the axis welfare and animal health, food safety and human health. Sustainable livestock farming systems, biotechnology and welfare.
