Assesment methods :
During the semester there will be 2 written tests with 20 and 15 points, presentation of semestral work – 5 points and a final written test for 60 points. To obtain an evaluation A is needed to obtained at least 93 points, for the evaluation B at least 86 points, C at least 79 points, D at least 72 points and E at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students will acquire theoretical as well as practical knowledge relating to characterization of individual fungal genera/species in terms of their morphology, physiology and ecology. They will master the taxonomic classification of fungi and related microscopic organisms, and they will acquire practical skills in performing basic microbiological techniques required for isolation and identification of microscopic fungi.
Providing knowledge - the student is able to analyse samples and identify selected genera of microscopic fungi.
Course contents:
Cytological and morphological characteristics of microscopic fungi. Nutrition, growth and reproduction. Principles of systematic microscopic fungi. National economic and ecological significance of microscopic fungi.
