Assesment methods :
The passing the course depends on the making of the project, its presentation before the participants of the seminar for 40 points and final exam for 60 points. It is necessary to get at least 93 points to obtain the evaluation of A, for the evaluation of B to get at least 85 points, for the evaluation of C to get at least 79 points, for the evaluation of D to get at least 72 points and for the evaluation of E to get at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student understands the theoretical foundations of chemical kinetics and basic physiological processes, that have took place in plants during the synthesis of natural compounds. On the basis of theoretical knowledge, the student will understand not only synthetic process, but also their degradation. In particular, they are the organic compounds belonging to the group of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, drugs and medicines. The graduate of the course will receive practical skills in the laboratory to prove the reaction products of high molecular weight compounds. The student knows methods of chemical synthesis and analysis, which are used in the chemical investigation. The graduate can apply knowledge, not only in laboratory practice, as well as in research.
Course contents:
Primary and secondary metabolites, importance, chemical reactions, biosynthesis, and degradation kinetics. Natural substances belonging to poisons, drugs and pharmaceuticals.
