Assesment methods :
During the semester there will be a semester work (related to target of study) - 40 points and a final oral examination for 60 points. To obtain rating A at least 93 points are required; for the rating B at least 86 points; for rating C at least 79 points; for rating D at least 72 points and for rating E at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student understands the general principles of cell regulations. Cell regulation are the basis for understanding functional processes on the level of cell, tissue but also of the whole organism. They are the source of information in relation to normal or altered conditions.
After completion of the subject the student understands the principles of cell and molecular physiology in vivo and in vitro.
Course contents:
Subject is focused on new integrated review of the key areas - membrane receptor initiated to cell signaling and nuclear-receptor activated gene regulation. In addition to their comprehensive review of the signaling mechanisms involving cell surface receptors, nuclear receptors, and ion channels, they detail the roles of calcium, lipids, cyclic AMP, protein kinases, and protein phosphatases. Now present at this vibrant union of molecular biology, cell biology, and endocrinology.
