Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim of the course is to teach students to work with information efficiently, information sources and systems for processing. The student understand the basics of relational database theory, can apply this knowledge to solve practical requirements, is able to analyze the requirements, structure the system to process them and propose solutions to problems in database systems MS Access and MySQL. The student is also able to manage these database systems.
Course contents:
In the first part, students learn the basic principles of creating a relational database - the mutual relation between tables, creating filters, queries, reports and forms.
In this course will learn how to create correct and efficient database design from the structural analysis of customer requirements, through the creation of a conceptual scheme, the logical database structure and design of the physical model to implementation and fulfillment of initial data base.
In conclusion, through Microsoft Access and SQL students create a project in which use acquired knowledge to solve specific assignments.
