Course credit: elaboration of semester project, revision and project vindication.

To obtain marking as A - excelent must be obtained at least 93 points, for marking as B - very good must be obtained at least 86 points, for marking as C – good must be obtained at least 79 points, for marking as D - satisfactory must be obtained at least 72 points, and for marking as E – sufficient must be obtained at least 64 points. Student obtains a course-credit for subject in the case of marking from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
To provide student with knowledge connected to functions, types and design parameters of irrigation systems.
A graduate of the subject is able to apply the knowledge necessary to assess the need of irrigation and use them to produce a simple project
Course contents:
Water sources, their preparation, operation and capacity, appraisal of quality and irrigation water. Water quality for localized irrigation. Pumping techniques, automatics of pumping stations, subsurface irrigation network. Irrigation detail and criteria of its choice, parameters of irrigation equipment. Technology of permanent cultures irrigation. Purpose and necessity of irrigation. Moisture necessity and irrigation regimes. Assessment of irrigation amount and the term of its application. Cultivation systems of field crops in irrigation conditions. Irrigation of vegetable and special crops, their individualities. Multi-purpose exploitation of special crops irrigation. Irrigation regime of fruit tree species, soft fruit, vine and hop.
