Assesment methods :
During the semester 1 written exam (20 points), and seminar work (30 points). Combined Final Exam (written and oral) for 50 points.
For obtaining the evaluation "A" is necessary receive least 93 points, for evaluation "B" minimum 86 points, for evaluation "C" minimum 79 points, for evaluation "D" minimum 72 points and for evaluation "E" least 64 points. Student acquires credits for subject only in the case of A - E evaluation.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student is able to apply knowledge from modern keeping techniques of non-traditional and perspective bird species. Achieve practical skills of animal rating, products evaluation, hatching and providing adequate breeding environment and feeding techniques of these birds.
Course contents:
Biology and breeding technology of ostriches, pheasants, Japanese quails,
pigeons, peacocks, muscovy ducks, wild turkeys and guinea fowls.
Possibilities of the reproductive process regulations. Characteristics and
potential uses of the products. Regulation of breeding environment. Basics
of non-traditional birds nutrition. Legislation determining housing
conditions, labeling and registration. The practical part of the course
(field exercises) is carried out at the university farm in Kolinany.
