Planned types, learning activities and teaching methods:
lecture1 hour weekly / 13 hours per semester of study (on-site method)
seminar3 hours weekly / 39 hours per semester of study (on-site method)

Semester: Animal Nutrition and Feedstuffs - master (required), 1. semester
Management of Animal Production - master (elective), 1. semester

Assesment methods :
The term grade will consist of continuous assessment – one semestral work (20 points) and laboratory protocol (20 points). End-of-term examination – oral exam (60 points). Grading scale: letter grade A requires minimum 93 points, letter grade B requires minimum 86 points, letter grade C requires minimum 79 points, letter grade D requires minimum 72 points, letter grade E requires minimum 64 points. A student may earn units of credits in grading scale from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student understands nutritive value and properties of feeds. Student understands the area of quality in forages and concentred feeds. Student is able to information transfer into practical conditions.
Course contents:
Nutrive constitution of feedstuffs. Factors affecting digestibilitty and feed value of feedstuffs.Classifying of the feedstuffs. Specifical properties of fresh green feedsuffs, silages, sillaged grits,root-crops,hay, corns, rests after industrial processing, animal feedstuffs and synthetic feedstuffs. Watter in animal feeding. Unconventional feedstuffs, additives of biofactors and oher additives. Feedstuffs as source of minerals and speciffic active nutrients. Nutritive additives. Antinutritive ingredients and toxic ingredients in feestuffs.
