Assesment methods :
During the semester there will be 2 written tests with 20 points, working out the rotocols of practical exercises and a final oral exam for 60 points. To obtain grade A must be obtained at least 93 points, for the evaluation of at least 86 points B, C rating on at least 79 points, for the evaluation of at least 72 points D and E on the evaluation of at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students of subject obtain knowledge about microclimatic conditions, hygiene of living conditions for animals, building for animal and land, decontamination addvances and arrangements,prevention of animal diseases and zoonotic diseases.
Student is able to evaluate the possible risks of breeding environment and manipulation on health, production and welfare of domestic animals and to apply obtained knowledge into breeding system to diminish their effect.
Course contents:
Definition of basic terms of animal welfare and its requirements, principles of health and prevention of animal diseases. Principles of first aid in disease animals. Veterinary procedures. Infectious diseases caused by organ and breeding environment. Climatic conditions of animal housing facilities and their impact on production, breeding environment sanitation, health economics, quality and safety of animal products and handling of sewage, silage juices, liquid manure, slurry and manure. Students will learn methods of fixation of the animals, health screening, assessment, and ways to measure microclimate.
