Planned types, learning activities and teaching methods:
3 hours weekly / 39 hours per semester of study (on-site method)

Semester: General Agriculture - bachelor (elective), 2. semester
Management od Animal Production - bachelor (elective), 2. semester

Prerequisites for registration: none
Assesment methods :
During the semester 1 seminar work (30 points). Combined Final Exam (written and oral) for 70 points.

For obtaining the evaluation "A" is necessary receive at least 93 points, for evaluation "B" minimum 86 points, for evaluation "C" minimum 79 points, for evaluation "D" minimum 72 points and for evaluation "E" least 64 points. Student acquires credits for subject only in the case of A - E evaluation.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student understands biological relations of water environment and achieves new knowledge of possibilities of aquarium fish keeping. Student will get skills of particular aquarium establishing and will be able provide fish reproduction.
Course contents:
Basic patterns of aquatic environment, biological balance, nitrogen cycle in
the water, water features, factors influencing breeding and fish keeping.
Principles of aquarium fish breeding, rearing principles. Equipment, types
of aquariums, fish families characteristics, ways of multiplication and
cultivation of aquatic plants. Fish nutrition and feed sources.
Commercialization opportunities in aquaristic practice.
