Assesment methods :
The term grade will consist of continuous assessment - two written exams 20 points each (40 points), and end-of-term examination - written exam (60 points). Grading scale: letter grade
A requires minimum 93 points, letter grade B requires minimum 86 points, letter grade C requires minimum 79 points, letter grade D requires minimum 72 points, letter grade E requires minimum 64 points. A Student may earn units of credits in grading scale from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student is able to calulate rates of nutrients for rational fertilization of agricultural crops based on the available macro and micronutrients content in soil. To know and apply appropriate species and forms of inorganic and organic fertilizers for field crops, grape-vine, fruit-trees and small-fruit species. To evaluate concrete crop fertilization system from economical point of view.
Course contents:
Agrochemical characteristics of mineral fertilizers and their effective utilization. Importance, production, properties and application of organic fertilizers. Evaluation and effectiveness of mineral and organic fertilization. Requirements of field crops on nutrients and fertilizers in relation to yield, quality of plant product and soil-climatic conditions. Fertilization of field crops under irrigation. Principles of fertilization plan working-out.
