Prerequisites for registration: none
Assesment methods :
The term grade will consist of continuous assessment – one written exam (40 points), end-of-term examination oral 60 points).
Grading scale: letter grade A requires minimum 93 points, letter grade B requires minimum 86 points, letter grade C requires minimum 79 points, letter grade D requires minimum 72 points, letter grade E requires minimum 64 points.
A student may earn units of credits in grading scale from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student is able to aply knowledge about the way of provision of microclimatic and technological conditions of chicks, turkeys, ducks, geese and rabbits raising under intensive husbandry. He will absorb methods of reproductive processes intensification exploitation and useful parameter evaluation. He will be able to define and provide welfare in raising of these species.
Course contents:
The use of high-performance biological material of perspective species of small animals - poultry and rabbits. Selection and breeding. Testing and monitoring performance. Insemination and reproductive process. Technological systems of breeding . Evaluation of products according to EU legislation. Zoohygienics. Health and Safety. Welfare in production. Alternative technologic systems of breeding. Selection and development of high-performance populations of broiler rabbits. Intensive systems of breeding. Evaluation of meat performance.
