Learning outcomes of the course unit:
To teach the studenst the most important plant viruses and possibilities of their control. After completion of the subject the students will be able to determine the most important viral diseases of field crops and horticultural plants.
Course contents:
The economic importance of plant viral diseases. Viral classification. Biochemical, physical, and morphological characteristics of viruses. Diagnostic methods and transmission of viruses. The most important viral disease of field crops. Plant resistance to viral diseases and virus control methods.
