Assesment methods :
- Partial written test during the semester for 30 points,
- Seminary project for 10 points,
- The final exam test for 60 points.
For the final evaluation it is necessary to obtain from a total number of 100 points:
- at least 93 points for the evaluation A, at least 86 points for the evaluation of B, at least 79 points for the evaluation of C, at least 72 points for the evaluation of D and at least 64 points for the evaluation E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student understands basic methods and calculation procedures that are used in the financial and actuarial mathematics. The student is able to apply knowledge from calculations of interest, annuities and redemption of loans and debts. Upon the completion of the course, student should be able to control mathematical principles of life insurance and to do appropriate decisions about mathematical tools for the calculation of the net premium in life and in pension insurance. By solving practical problems student achieves logical and computational skills that are applied in the practice area of finance and insurance.
Course contents:
Simple interest. Business discount and mathematical discount. Financial equivalence principle. Compouned interest. Interest rates. Continuous interest. Pensions and rents. Redemption of loans. General formulation of the role of insurance. Net premiums in personal insurance. Insurance reserve in life insurance. Gross premiums.
