Assesment methods :
Elaboration and defence presentation of the project (40 points), and end-of-term oral examination (60 points). Grading scale: letter grade A requires minimum 93 points, letter grade B requires minimum 86 points, letter grade C requires minimum 79 points, letter grade D requires minimum 72 points, letter grade E requires minimum 64 points.
A student may earn units of credits in grading scale from A to E.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
A student will understand the principles of the ecological and economical effective usage of the natural and anthropogenic resources of nutrients and substances which increase utilization of nutrients by the cultivated plant species. A graduate will acquire the theoretical knowledge of the situation solving in optimization of plant nutrition. A student will also obtain the practical abilities to recognize rational and irrational vegetation nutrition. S/he will be able to use the methodical procedures of the determination of nutrients in soil and plant.
Course contents:
The natural and anthropogenic, traditional and also less known resources of plant nutrients and the possibilities of their effective usage in the cultivation of the field, garden, park and greenhouse plants with the increase of the soil production potential. The dependence of the quantity and quality of the cultivated plants yield on soil nutrient potentials. The scientific plant nutrition in the conventional and ecological agriculture. The utilization of byproducts of agricultural and industrial activity in the production of the direct and indirect fertilizers in order to create the conditions for the sustainable agriculture. Legislation of the fertilizing substances.
