Assesment methods :
The subject will be graduated by oral examination. To valuation A student needs to get 93 points, B at least 86 points, C at least 79 points, D at least 72 points and E at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
After completion of the subject the student is able to apply methods for determination, isolation and identification of specific groups of microorganisms in milk and milk products practically. Student is able to evaluate and analyse obtained results and to deduce conclusion.
Course contents:
Legislative requirements for the establishment of a microbiological laboratory. The methods used for determination of microorganisms. Determination technologically undesirable (eg. coliform, psychrotropic, heat-resistant, sporulated and others) microorganisms, technologically useful (eg. lactic acid bacteria) and pathogenic bacteria (strains Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, and others).
