Assesment methods :
During the semester there will be semester project and its presentation in 40 points and a final written exam in 60 points. To obtain A mark will be needed to obtain at least 93 points, for the evaluation of B mark at least 86 points, C mark at least 79 points, for the evaluation of D mark at least 72 points and for the evaluation of E mark at least 64 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student will understand the general principle of recombinant DNA preparation, transformation, selection and analysis of transformants. Understand the methods of sequencing, hybridization, making genomic and cDNA libraries. The student to gain practical skills in the laboratory, he can isolate nucleic acids and separated them on agar and polyacrylamide gels. Operated by PCR and microsatellite analysis. The student is able to apply knowledge, not only in laboratory practice, as well as in research.
Course contents:
Isolation of DNA, cleavage with restriction enzymes, recombinant DNA production, transformation, hybridization and immunological techniques of detection of recombinant DNA, DNA sequencing methods, cytological methods for detection of genes and their products, creating of genomic and cDNA libraries, targeted gene expression.
