Title of the thesis:Innovation Process in Local Self – Government
Summary:Innovation is part of our daily lives and can be found in all areas, such as health, education, information technology and transport. The need for continuous improvement, is the need to innovate, is not only addressed in the private sector but also in the public sector. On the basis of innovation, local governments can maintain a high level of service provision and communicate with citizens at a high level. The main objective of the thesis is to evaluate innovation activities in the conditions of the local self-government of Karlova Ves. The first part provides a theoretical overview of basic concepts such as innovation, innovation process, innovation potential, types of innovation, innovation barriers, the importance of innovation and innovation in the public sector. In the second part, we evaluated the innovation environment of the selected municipality over a period of 5 years. In conclusion, we have identified the greatest barriers to the innovation process and have suggested recommendations for their removal.
