Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Resources; Department of Fruit Production, Viticulture, and Enology FZKI. - Supervisor: Ing. PaedDr. Jaroslav Jedlička, PhD. - Nitra: 2012. --p. 47 Diabetes mellitus is a hormonal disease which manifests with a high blood sugar or sugar metabolism disorder. The disease afflicts 5% of population. Gestational diabetes occurs during pregnancy and usually disappears after delivery. However, about 20%--50% of affected women develop type 2 diabetes in 5 to 10 years. It can be dangerous for the health of both fetus and mother. Conditions of the disease can be improved by well-balanced diet or physical activity.
