This thesis refers to the problem of fixity od the American Staffordshire Terrier. The breed of American Staffordshire Terrier has the standardsestablished and itis a common knowledgethat these need to be fullfiled. Despite of this there are three different types of these dogs. For this research we have chosen thirtyadult individuals of this breed. There were chosen fifteen subjects of these adult dogs assuming steady physical development with pedigree and fifteen without it. We used the method of measuring the height at withers in dogs, the overall height, head circumference, length of the head and measure the weight individuals. These values were entered into tables, and the results were compared with the standard dog. The aim of the study was to investigate steadfastness breed in today's holdings. Target group of dogs, where we take measurements was very individual, and we found that the mother and daughter from a registered holding, were different types of American Staffordshire Terrier.
