Title of the thesis:Description of the state of abiotic elements of the environment in the district of Zlaté Moravce
Summary:ELIAŠ, Štefan: Description of the state of abiotic elements of the environment in the district of Zlaté Moravce -- Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. Horticulture and Landscape Engineering Faculty; Department of Landscape Planning and Landscaping - tutor: prof. Ing. Jozef Streďanský, DrSc. The target of the thesis is to evaluate the state of selected environment elements and to propose measures for improvement. In the thesis, we monitored the environment quality in the district of Zlaté Moravce. We analysed in details and evaluated the quality of air and water and proposed remedial measures to be taken. For actual implementation of the goals set, we selected in case of water evaluation examination of the condition of three water courses, namely Žitava, Hostiansky potok and Čerešňový potok. It emerges from the result of works that the development of particulate (solid pollutants) emission as of 2008 was growing, namely from 6.71 t. year-1 to 18.21 t. year-1 in 2011. SO2 emissions indicate a declining tendency in the monitored period. While in 2008 SO2 emissions amounted to 8.07 t. year-1, in 2011 it was only 1.91 t.year-1. CO emissions participate the most in air pollution in the district. The development of CO emissions in the district also has a decreasing tendency. In 2008 the level of CO in the air was 392.75 t. year-1; in 2011 it was only 186.57 t. year-1. Companies such as Secop, spol. s r. o., Prvá energetická teplárenská spoločnosť, spol. s r. o., Eurovia SK Košice represent a significant participation in air pollution with CO emissions. The water quality values in the river Žitava in the profile above Zlaté Moravce, 48.20 km in year 2011 shows for example in the indicator of soluble oxygen class 1 of purity, BSK5 -- class 3, CHSKCr -- class 2, pH -- class 2. In total in 17 indicators class 1 is reached, 8 times class 2 and 2 times class 3 -- see annexes No. 1, 2 and 3. The water quality in Hostiansky potok at low overflow in quality class III according to the NEL (petroleum substances) indicators. In other indicators the water quality mainly indicates quality class I. There are several water reservoirs in the district as well where by applying chemical analysis it was found out that water hardness ranges from 2.2 to 3.05 (relatively hard waters). pH ranges from 6.46 to 8.84. The alkalinity values found were from 0 to 0.03. The content of soluble oxygen is present in the interval from 5.7 to 7.1. From the aspect of oxygen regime, all monitored reservoirs have favourable conditions for the life of organisms.
