In this bachelor thesis we discuss waste economy. We review history, the influence of waste on the environment and the current state of legislature. We mention basic terms and classification. In the next part we define waste and means of its reduction. Then follows the analysis of waste dumps, their composition, division and evolution in time. At the end of the chapter we discuss the closure of a waste dump by its recultivation, the types of recultivation and the creation of seepage liquids. Our methodology is focused on the location of waste dumps, its geological structure and hydrological and climatic characteristics. The data were obtained from the final report created at the closure of a waste dump.
