Positive effects of biochar on hydrophysical soil properties were uncovered in previous studies. In 2014 agricultural experiment on the research area in Dolná Malanta was established, in order to verify this hypothesis. This experiment was composed of several variation trials with various doses of biochar and nitrogen. The main goal of this diploma thesis was to interpret the influence of biochar in various doses on the surface moisture and analyzing these changes. For the detection of surface soil moisture two methods were used gravimetric and TDR method. For better interpretation of results linear dependence was needed to calibrate both of methods. By studying the regression lines in all variantions we have reached very interesting facts, that in variations with the dose of nitrogen there is considerable deviation from the variation of control, which menas, that the nitrogen has influence on detection of TDR. For realization of the main goal we needed to start from the data, which was measured with gravimetric method, whereby the volume moisture was defined by four variation of trials B0+N0, B20+N0, B20+N160, a B20+N240. The positive effect of biochar on soil moisture cannot be shown in the year 2017. Biochar of the amount of 20 t.ha-1 with 240 kg.ha-1 of nitrogen raised the soil moisture, but not as considerably as in the previous years.
