Title of the thesis:The A1 variant detection of the CSN2 gene in the population of the Slovak Spotted cattle
Summary:The diploma thesis deals with the A1 variant detection of the CSN2 gene in the population of the Slovak Spotted cattle. The theoretical part is focused on the characteristics of milk and its composition, positive impact on the health of people by effects of essential vitamins and minerals contained therein, but also allergy, intolerance and many negative effects due to several factors including in the consumption of A1 milk in human nutrition. We used the biological materials in the applied part, in particular blood obtained from the cattle, total of 111 cows of Slovak Spotted breed, through the instrumentation. Genomic DNA was isolated from buccal mucosae, then the polymorphism of CSN2 gene was detected by the PCR-RFLP method. On the basis of molecular-genetic analysis we evaluated genotypic structure of the monitored population.
Key words:milk, beta-casein, CSN2 gene, PCR-RFLP, DNA
