Název práce:Cytological aspects of the development of male and female gametophyte of taxa of the family Rosaceae Juss.
Abstrakt:The aim of this work was to describe the details of the development process of male and female gametophyte within species belonging to the family Rosaceae, subfamily Spiraeoideae. The autochthonous species Prunus spinosa and its spontaneous hybrids P. × dominii, P. × fruticans, P. × fechtneri, P. × schurii, allochtonous species P. cerasifera, cultivated P. domestica, autochthonous species Cerasus fruticosa and its spontaneous hybrids C. × eminens and C. × mohacsyana from tribe Amygdaleae have been studied. The autochthonous species Cotoneaster matrensis, C. alaunicus and Crataegus lindmanii from tribe Pyreae have been also studied. The research was carried out using standard cytoembryological methods. Based on the reached results we can state that essential features of the initial stages of generative reproduction process covering megasporogenesis, megagametogenesis, microsporogenesis and microgametogenesis are identical for all taxa. The observed differences were noted between taxa from different tribes. A significant difference was found in the development of the female gametophyte. The female gametophyte of the taxa from tribe Amygdaleae develops only sexually and reduced gametophytes of the Polygonum type are formed. The examined taxa from the tribe Pyreae are characterized by two ways of developing female gametophyte. The apomictic development of non-reduced aposporic female gametophyte is dominant whereas the sexual development of the female gametophyte is significantly reduced. Apomictic female gametophytes of Crataegus lindmanii have a higher number of polar nuclei (3-4) compared to Cotoneaster species. Preservation of residual sexuality was more significant in the genus Cotoneaster compared to Crataegus lindmanii. The examined taxa from the tribe Pyreae can be characterized as facultative apomicts and due to observed phenomena during fertilization, they can be considered pseudogamous species. Significant differences in developmental processes between pure species and hybrid taxa were found. Development of male and female gametophyte of pure species (Prunus spinosa, P. cerasifera, Cerasus fruticosa) was carried out without major disturbances. As a results of these processes, male gametophyte was normally developed and functional pollen grains were produced. The development of gametophytes of polyploid (tetraploid) taxa Cotoneaster matrensis, C. alaunicus and Crataegus lindmanii as well as hybrid taxa of the genus Prunus (P. × dominii, P. × fruticans, P. × fechtneri, P. × schurii, P. domestica) and Cerasus (C. × eminens a C. × mohacsyana) was characterized by disturbances in all its stages. These disturbances led to a failure in the development of the male gametophyte and heterogenous pollen grains of different shape and size were formed. Serious disturbances during the development of pollen grains in the triploid taxon C. × mohacsyana caused almost complete male sterility. All other taxa retain the potential for realizing some degree of generative reproduction.
