Summary: On the territory of the Nitra self-government region, there are number of the currently unused areas, originally dedicated to heavy industry, mining, housing, others. The scope of the thesis, based on the secondary and empirical data from the field research is to analyse former and current approaches to solve problems with such as brownfields. The thesis should also give some proposals for purposeful recovery of selected brownfields known from sampling research.
