The objective of the diploma thesis is to analyse, compare and evaluate the ways in which selected cities use their assets for entrepreneurial purposes. The emphasis will be placed on entrepreneurship through companies with equity participation of cities and on effects of such form of entrepreneurship. Data and information will be obtained from secondary sources (internal documents of cities) as well as from primary sources (e.g. through a structured interview with representatives of the executive management of cities or companies with equity participation of cities). Key issues and shortcomings will be identified and measures to improve the use of municipal assets for entrepreneurial purposes will be proposed.
