Summary: In cooperation with the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg and its Research Group Urban and Landscape Ecology (Prof. Dr. Jürgen Breuste), the master thesis will focus on ecological aspects in planning and designing urban green spaces on a case-study-review basis in Slovakia and Austria. The thesis will be double-supervised (SUA Nitra - Dr. Tóth, University of Salzburg - Prof. Dr. Breuste) and will focus on the interrelationships and corelations between landscape planning and landscape architecture on one side and urban and landscape ecology on the other side. The thesis will have an interdisciplinary character and requires good knowledge of English (mandatory) and German (optional), since it is necessary to conduct a study stay via Erasmus+ / Ceepus / Action Austria-Slovakia at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg. The work will include the review of existing landscape planning concepts, schemes, policies and legislation in both Slovakia and Austria and case studies from both countries.
