|Project description:||The area of nutritional research has an increasing focus on the study of plant substances, which can effectively modulate the metabolic processes of animal cells, including human. Such substances are phytonutrients, active substances or antioxidants that protect the organism against oxidative stress. Significant in their effects are, in particular, biologically active substances - polyphenols and flavonoids with a potentially high antioxidant and anticancer activity. Examination of the effects of phytonutrients present in traditional and non-traditional fruits species (elderberry, blackcurrant, blue honeysuckle, grape, sea buckthorn, pomegranate, Chinese herbaceous, etc.) and their mechanism of action on healthy, but also cancer cells is the subject of the proposed project.|
