Výskum vplyvu rôznych faktorov na obsah bioaktívnych látok a obsah sírnych zlúčenín v rode Allium a sladkých zemiakoch (Ipomoea batatas L.)

Supervisor: doc. Ing. Judita Lidiková, PhD.

Basic information

This page shows details on the project. The primary projects are displayed together with a list of sub-projects.

Project description:
The genus Alllium is a significant source of substances beneficial for the human body and they are among the crops, whose cultivation has a long tradition in Slovakia. They contain antioxidant active phytochemicals that help to prevent oxidative damage of molecules. Sweet potatoes reach the consumers primarily as imported goods; their cultivation in Slovakia is not widespread. The aim of the project is to research changes in the content of bioactive substances in the crops, depending on a variety of factors. Justification of the project results from the requirements of intake of foods of plant origin, rich in antioxidants, as their intake is associated with decreased occurrence of lifestyle diseases.
