This page shows details on the project. The primary projects are displayed together with a list of sub-projects.

Project description:The heavy metals are natural elements in lithosphere occurring in various concentrations. They are stabile and persistent environmental substances with the tendency to accumulate in soil, water and also in plants. They belong among basic contaminating substances monitored in different parts of the environment. Monitoring subjects are Hg, Pb, Cd and Cr, which are globally considered as the most harmful for humans and animals. From environmental and toxicological standpoint the heavy metals are marked as metal elements causing toxic effects and the environment contamination. The main anthropogenic sources of metals are different industrial sources (present and in past done mining activities), foundry, transportation. The evaluation of mutual relation among heavy metals content evaluation in soil and nutritive substances content (lipids, saccharides, proteins), antioxidants (C vitamin) and natural toxic parts of agricultural crops used as foods (polyamines) will be the main goal of this project. The summaries will contribute to optimalization of these plants cultivating with the emphasis on maximal content of crop nutritive compounds and nutritive value preservation.
