Universities and economic development of regionsSupervisor: doc. Ing. Mária Fáziková, CSc.
This page shows details on the project. The primary projects are displayed together with a list of sub-projects.
|Universities are considered to be the driving force of economic development and their impact is concentrated mainly in the regions where they are located. Our project will focus on the study of the economic importance of universities for the development of regions from four different perspectives. We will examine their short-term regional economic impact which will be quantified using an I-O analysis. We also examine the long-term impact of universities on business development and human capital in the host region. Specifically, we will discuss the impact of universities on the development of innovative business through the creation of university spin-off companies. We will also address the efficiency and effectiveness of regional development policies through support of universities.|
